Hey friend, if you stall in what you know needs to be done or promised yourself to do but don’t have the guts to do it, it’s probably caused by fear, self doubt and then the “excuse machine” starts churning out “reasons” to stop you taking action on that opportunity which has shown up…………it’s painful.

Does that sound familiar? Well, it sounds familiar to me. I was talking about myself!

You and I are just being “normal” if you identify with the above.

Recently I have tried to experiment with ways to bust down fear doors and I have a couple of experimental results to share with you:

  1. Whenever my internal speech tells me that there is a “reason” “it can’t be done”. I try to substitute the word “reason” with “excuse”. So the story I tell myself becomes “I can’t do it due to the following excuses” (instead of the original “I can’t do it due to the following reasons”).     It works wonders for me!
  2. I ask myself this question” “Maurice, are you a BOZO who can only stay in a comfort zone, or are you going to kick your own ass and get outside your comfort zone”?.     It works for me!
  3. I ask myself: “Maurice, are you all thinking and no action?” or “are you an action guy?”
  4. Finally, I tell myself: yes darling, I know you feel a lot of fear. But do it anyway!

They worked sometimes, and I am trying to make it work even more.

I wonder if anyone can share more of their ways to busting down fear doors? I would love more tools in my tool box of fear busting.
