Look at how your kids want it…

Not long ago, before iPhone1 came along, I was an “early adopter” in at least one thing. I had a “BlackBerry” before everyone else in my circle. To the envy of all my friends and colleagues, I was able to check my emails without going into the office or lugging my laptop all over town looking for a hole to plug into the internet.
I was literally ahead of everyone in my old fashioned “fashion” industry. I was having a ball having people peeping over my shoulders to see what the heck I had in my hands, and then asking me to explain what a “BlackBerry” did.
Fast forward only a few years. Most people I work with now have never heard of BlackBerry. And they definitely don’t want to hear about it! They don’t want to read emails if they can help it. They don’t want to read long stories if they can have a short one.
They don’t want to read if they can have images and sounds.
One thing they all still want, and more of it, is emotional connection. As creators of content, we better be empathetic and go to where people are and deliver our messages the way they want to receive them.
Look at how your kids want to consume content if you want an effective way forward.
