Don’t sell yourself short……

One of my favourite quotes is from Nelson Mandela: “It always seems impossible until it’s done”.
It has helped me countless times to change the narrative I tell myself when I face obstacles, as they always inevitably show up at the moment when we most need to continue our work.
Constant reminder of my responsibility to myself as the “obstacles remover”, instead of the guy who chooses to see obstacles as a sign that the work is “impossible”, has worked for me to make me a happier and more effective person.
I would argue that anytime we forget Nelson Mandela’s quote above is when we are on the path to selling ourselves short……
If there is anyone in recent history who showed us the infinite potential of each of us, Mandela must be one of them.
Jailed for 27 years by people representing a brutal regime. He chose to do the impossible. To forgive and reconcile. To discard all the dead moments of the past and focus on the present and build the future.
Anytime I find myself selling myself short by acting in a way that does not help in develop mine and others’ infinite potential, I remember Nelson Mandela’s quote: “it always seems impossible until it’s done.”
Don’t sell yourself short…….
