Accepting full responsibility is a great freedom……

I am making a “shocking” assertion.

It’s a bit tough for those of us who are accustomed to believing that our mental state comes from the outside.  They are right to say that it’s a bit “extreme” to put the full responsibility, in fact 100% responsibility, on our own shoulders, for our own mental wellbeing.

It’s easier to blame others or outside circumstances for our positive or negative states of mind. For our positive states of mind such as joy, compassion, happiness……..and our negative states of mind such as jealousy, anger, depression, anxiety…….

Just like any other responsibility, when it is 100% accepted, freedom comes as the eventual reward. Because when we accept 100% responsibility, we also take back into our own hands the 100% control in it’s causes and outcome.

We become the 100% boss of our own states of mind.

It’s definitely very hard work to unpack our own mind and work with it. It’s super “extreme”. But it also means the beginning of the road to develop our potential to rid of all the neuroses.

This comes as a shock to those of us who are accustomed to not accepting 100% responsibility.

I am curious, would someone who wants to take back control consider the possibilities available to all of us?
