Is what I am about to say/do, generous to the recipient?….

What I am about to say to someone, is it generous or not (to her)?
The feedback I am about to give to my teammate, is it generous? Is it going to help him on his journey? If not, how can I change it to pass the “generosity test”?
If I am going to kick someone’s butt, is it a “generous butt kicking” or is it just to make me feel my ego and power?
I have discovered that by pausing a a few seconds, ask myself this question “is it generous to the recipient?”, changes everything.
It has helped me be more effective.
And it has certainly made my actions and words more positively received.
