Humanity maximising…………

We were having a discussion about “behavioural economics” and the normal term used most of the time is “profit maximising”.
Someone chipped in with a new one : “humanity maximising”.
Those two words shifted something inside me.
Immediately all the positive qualities of being human came to mind, tolerance, generosity, kindness, magnanimity, compassion, love, understanding, …………..
When we make something for a customer or bring it to market, if instead of asking, “is this going to maximise my profit”, we ask “is it humanity maximising”, is it going to be more valuable for both parties in the long run?
Humanity maximising…………….is this a “Gold Standard” worth holding onto?
