Disengaging from the autopilot

One of the things I notice that keeps us resistant to leveling up, being more kind, more open……..etc is that our autopilot system is always on. We do everything by autopilot. We have practiced our habits for so long that every reaction or response is automatic.
We always do this the same way. And the cycle repeats.
For change to happen, and for something fresh and new to be given a chance, we must disengage from the autopilot. We have to literally reprogram ourselves to discard the old habits first, and be present and engaged every moment and come up with the best response each time and in every situation as if it has never been encountered.
This is like bringing the beginner’s mind back to every present moment.
