4 simple words that will transform 100X your effectiveness and bring you more success than you have ever imagined.

If we define success as offering something truly valuable and unique to the world, then the following 3 words.  will help you create enormous value:

  1. FOCUS
  2. COMMITMENT
  3. CONSISTENCY

Well, actually 4 words. The diamond of words is EXTREME.  So,

  1. EXTREME FOCUS
  2. EXTREME COMMITMENT
  3. EXTREME CONSISTENCY

(1) Extreme focus

When we are extremely focussed, we are extremely determined and extremely dedicated. We only stay in extreme focus when we have clarity of purpose and it forces us to question what it’s for and who it’s for. When we are clear about who it’s for and what it’s for, we stop getting distracted by other wasteful thoughts and actions that don’t contribute towards our extreme focus.

Extreme focus starts with cutting down and letting go of any actions and thoughts which do not contribute to the goal.

Extreme focus is the opposite of “multitasking”. Multitasking is basically trying to be everywhere at the same time. We all know that we can’t be physically at the same time, we can’t be in London and in New York at the same time. And yet we believe that we can chase different thoughts at the same time.

In meditation we have something called “single pointed concentration” and when we practice that the muscle power of our mind goes up 100X.  This is extreme focus. And when we can get into the extreme focus state, we have an “unfair advantage” over everyone else who are distracted.

Extreme focus bring clarity. It removes fogginess. When we have clarity, we walk and speak differently, and guess what, we become better leaders. People like to follow leaders who are CLEAR of where they are going than leaders who are unclear about where they are going. Our intentions become clear to everyone to see, and that helps followers to take action.

(2) Extreme commitment

When we are extremely committed to something, we get rid of and let go of what we are not really committed to.

Commitment requires us to be clear what it’s and and who it’s for. It requires us to super increase our commitment to what we are extremely committed to and simply say no to what we were previously “sort of semi committed” to. We very often take on too many commitments, serve too many issues and have too large a customer base. By starting with the smallest viable audience, we can be super committed to the significant few and ignore the anonymous masses. The irony is that by being super committed to a significant few, the word might, just might, spread that we become the company or people that many more others will want to do business with.

Like with extreme focus, extreme commitment requires us to keep things simple and clear. Instead of allowing the mind to fly all over the place.

We don’t need to chase too many great opportunities. We just need to be extremely committed to a few, even if superficially not so great, opportunities. Because our extreme commitment will transform the mundane opportunities into great opportunities.

(3) Extreme consistency

Is consistency the opposite of “occasionally”? Is it ok to be truthful occasionally or consistently. Is it ok to be kind occasionally or consistently? Is it ok to be occasionally clean and not consistently clean?

It’s obvious that whatever positive quality we offer to the world, by being consistent will bring us more success. And by being extremely consistent will bring extreme success. Success doesn’t come from what we occasionally do, but from what we consistently do.

I started studying companies, especially successful ones from Germany and Japan,  which do what others do but very much more successfully. And I discovered that they were not much more skilled or had any special technology or knowledge that others don’t have. They were simply much more extremely consistent and hence that extreme consistency created much more trust and value to people they seek to serve. And more loyalty.

The difference between them and “mediocre” people is that they ignore feelings when it comes to implementation and execution. They would execute the exact way they have decided to execute no matter how they “feel like” or what circumstances are at that moment. This is extreme consistency.

It is a must have skill if we want to make any serious change.

Practice extreme focus, extreme commitment and extreme consistency and stay on your game, and keep going because you have something special that only you have in the world, and we need you to be extremely focussed, committed and consistent to bring that gift that only you have out to us! You deserve to bring your potential out.
